WHAT TO EXPECT

We are in the midst of putting together a magical Christmas experience where you, your friends and family can celebrate the most wonderful time of year in this exquisite Manor House.
The roaring twenties was all about decadence, so expect no less from this lavish Christmas Extravaganza. Speakeasies, gangsters and jazz give this colourful era a distinct and alluring style that lends itself perfectly to a sophisticated themed party.
Visualise sumptuous red, black and gold decor. Gramophones on brass, floor standing tiffany lamps and wooden crates.
Make sure you are here to frolic in the incredible entertainment and amazing foods we are ready to deliver to you. Illegal gambling was rife during prohibition, so gather round for a game of roulette or poker. Then, take your pick from a whole host of Bottomless Street Foods, Festive Flatbreads, Fancy Platters, Lemore’s 1920’s canapés and so much more to tantalise your taste buds.

DRESS CODE

Flappers and Dappers!
Ladies
In the 1920s, a new woman was born: she smoked, drank, danced, and voted; she cut her hair, wore heavy make-up; she was giddy and took risks. She was a Flapper.

Women wore dresses all day, everyday. Party dresses were sleeveless, shapeless, ankle to knee length slip gowns accented with beading, sequins, fringe, and some feathers. Rich jewel tones and soft pastels made the simplest of gowns look expensive. Add to that some lavish accessories, such as a diamond tiara or headband, silk shawl, feather fan, long pearl necklace, and gold arm bangles, and women looked like silent movie stars!

Gents

1920s men’s fashion was the start of menswear as we know it today.  It was a time of classic sophistication with a level of fun that has gone by the wayside in favour of more and more casual modern clothing.
While ladies lavished in fancy frocks, men found relief in slightly more comfortable dinner jackets (tuxedos) instead of stuffy tailcoats. Many men cast off formal attire all-together and embraced the colourful life of striped suits, flashy neckties, Homburg hats, and gold capped walking sticks.
